Apart from the obvious difference, there are also small details changed between the two second-generation Searacer models, for example the S/el Searacer has an applied TAG Heuer logo in silver, while the Link models have the logo printed on the dial. #Tag heuer calibre 5 aquaracer 2013 series#The second generation Searacer was based on the S/el- Link case and again came in two versions, one branded S/el and a later series branded Link. Once the 10 minute countdown has completed, the chronograph will automatically switch back to standard chronograph timing mode and the left register will point up. The large red chronograph hand will advance every 10 seconds and by using the outer dial chapter the red hand will count down for 10 minutes. The center black chronograph hand will count seconds. Once the countdown mode is activated, pressing the top chronograph pusher at 2 o’clock begins the countdown timing. The left register does not have a timing function in this mode and only acts as a countdown mode indicator. This will be indicated by the red left register hand pointing in the downward position. The central red hand counts the Regatta minutes.īesides as a normal chronograph, the TAG Heuer Searacer Regatta Chronograph also functions as a countdown timer for yacht racing. By depressing and holding the bottom chronograph pusher the chronograph is put into “Countdown” mode. The left sub-dial is a 12 hour counter while the right sub-dial shows 1/10th second for the chronograph. It has a black central sweeping seconds hand for the chronograph functions and two sub-dials. Both versions were delivered with an extra nylon strap, enabling the watch to be worn over a wetsuit. The first generation Searacer watches were available with either a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet with double-safety clasp (reference CK111R.BA0328), or with a calfskin leather strap with signed buckle (reference CK111R.FC8117). To begin with, it is, in general, not a COSC certified movement. Some versions have ”Côtes de Genève”, but all versions are engraved “TAG Heuer - Calibre 5 - Swiss Made”. It cannot, however, be called an in-house movement.ĭepending on the version, the calibre 5 can be decorated differently. In terms of functions, it displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The movement it uses as its base, the 2824, has a power reserve of 38 hours, but TAG has upped the power reserve to 42 hours. ![]() It has a power reserve of 42 hours and beats at a frequency of 28800 vph. It is an automatic movement with a bidirectional rotor. However, it can also be based on the Sellita SW200. It uses the ETA 2824-2 as its base, but TAG has in turn given it the name calibre 5. It is one of TAG’s go-to flagship movements. TAG Has several different variations of the Calibre 5. In fact, it may very well be TAG’s most well-known caliber. The Tag Heuer calibre 5 is a movement (caliber) used by Tag Heuer for a large number of watches. ![]()
